About the role
- Lead actuary for Mercer’s Government Human Services Consulting projects impacting healthcare for vulnerable communities across multiple states. Oversee team and client engagements in Medicaid actuarial projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of actuaries, actuarial and data analysts, clinicians and health policy consultants supporting multiple large, complex capitation rate-setting and other actuarial projects
- Work with the client to define and manage the scope of the project
- Oversee the development of rate-setting assumptions built into actuarial models
- Work directly with clients on emerging and/or unique challenges facing their programs
- Oversee the drafting of project communications, including rate certification letters and presentations
- Provide guidance, oversight and mentoring for actuarial staff as needed
Requirements
- BA/BS degree
- 10+ years minimum health actuarial experience
- 5+ years of Medicaid actuarial experience
- Actuarial credentials (ASA, FSA, MAAA)
- Experience leading large multi-disciplinary teams and large, complex projects
