About the role
- Project Engineer responsible for planning and executing capital projects at an electrical cable manufacturer. Collaborating with teams to ensure high-quality project execution and compliance with engineering standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of plant capital projects including equipment installations, facility modifications, and infrastructure improvements
- Develop and maintain AutoCAD drawings including equipment layouts, utility routing, and building modifications
- Perform field measurements and verify dimensions to support drawing development and project planning
- Support the development of project scopes, cost estimates, and project schedules
- Coordinate with equipment vendors, contractors, and internal departments during project execution
- Support equipment installations and facility upgrades while ensuring alignment with plant engineering standards
- Work with production, maintenance, and EHS teams to ensure safe and effective project implementation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred
- Experience supporting capital projects in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and facility drawings
- Familiarity with industrial equipment installation and plant layout concepts
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, contractors, and vendors
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Relevant industrial project experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
