About the role
- Midweight Motion Designer creating engaging animations for music brands in Berlin. Collaborating closely with Head of Music and Creative Lead for impactful content.
Responsibilities
- Create short-form animated ads and social content for our music brands
- Animate characters, avatars, and graphic elements in After Effects
- Turn existing designs and concepts into engaging animations and variations
- Build multiple versions of creatives for testing (formats, hooks, pacing, styles)
- Add and sync basic voice-overs using AI tools when needed
- Add captions/subtitles and prepare assets for paid media and social platforms
- Adapt animations into multiple formats (9:16, 1:1, 16:9) and languages
- Iterate and optimize existing animations based on performance
- Test new visual styles, characters, and storytelling approaches
- Focus on happy, friendly, emotional, and accessible animation styles (often for kids / families / mood-based use cases)
- Work closely with the Head of Music and our Creative Lead
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a Motion Designer / Animator
- Strong skills in After Effects (character animation, expressions, transitions, motion systems)
- Comfortable creating animations from scratch – not just editing footage
- Experience with short-form animated content for ads or social media
- A versatile style range (cute, playful, emotional, simple, clean)
- A performance mindset: you care about what works, not just what looks good
- Basic video editing skills (transitions, subtitles, voice-over sync)
- Independent, fast, and reliable execution style
- Fluent in English (German is a plus)
