About the role
- Senior Accountant managing subledger accounting for Lovehoney's German entities. Overseeing operations and guiding a team of accounting professionals in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all subledger accounting activities for our German companies, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Provide functional guidance and support to a team of up to three accounting staff, fostering collaboration and high standards.
- Actively participate in operational accounting tasks, working alongside your team.
- Ensure the implementation and ongoing improvement of efficient accounting processes and internal controls.
- Confidently and securely use relevant functions in our ERP system (NetSuite) as part of daily work.
- Ensure compliance with German statutory accounting requirements (HGB) and support the preparation of financial statements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and other finance teams, to support group-wide initiatives.
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Solid experience in operational accounting, ideally in a multinational environment.
- Experience in functional leadership, mentoring, or guiding a small team.
- In-depth knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and local compliance requirements.
- Confident user of ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Fluency in German and English.
