About the role

• Senior Cloud Architect focusing on architecture and technical decisions at LMIS. Leading cloud migrations and operations for managed applications with a focus on Azure and AWS.

Responsibilities

• Architectural and technical lead for cloud migrations and guidance for customers in the structured migration of legacy application systems and IT landscapes to the cloud, with a primary focus on Microsoft Azure and, where applicable, AWS
• Designing target architectures for cloud environments and defining central framework conditions such as security, network, and governance concepts
• Building and standardizing cloud operations models as the basis for a stable, scalable, and cost-effective cloud operation, including areas such as monitoring, backup, high availability, and cost control
• Establishing Security-by-Design as an integral part of our cloud architectures and supporting teams on topics such as identity & access management, security monitoring, and compliance requirements
• Driving automation and Infrastructure as Code for reproducible and standardized provisioning of cloud infrastructures, e.g. with Terraform
• Evaluating and integrating modern AI or AIOps approaches to optimize stability, transparency, and efficiency in cloud operations
• Serving as a technical sparring partner for customers and internal teams on architecture, technology, and operational decisions
• Building knowledge in the area of Managed Applications through know-how transfer and contributing to the development of standards, best practices, and templates

Requirements

• Several years of practical experience building and shaping cloud architectures with a clear focus on Microsoft Azure
• Proven experience migrating legacy IT and application landscapes to the cloud and a solid understanding of the typical challenges in such projects
• Deep understanding of cloud security and SecOps, particularly in identity & access management, network and security architectures, governance and compliance requirements, and Security-by-Design
• Experience operating production cloud environments (Cloud Operations), e.g. with regard to monitoring, backup strategies, high availability, and cost control
• Hands-on experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code, ideally with tools such as Terraform
• Experience in technical consulting for customers or internal stakeholders and the ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and in a structured way
