About the role
- Experienced Accounts Supervisor for legal cashiering overseeing transactions and compliance at Woodstock Legal Services. Managing a small team and ensuring financial accuracy in a law firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily legal cashiering tasks, including:
- Processing client and office account receipts and payments
- Managing a high volume of property transactions and completions end-to-end
- Bank reconciliations
- Posting transactions accurately in compliance with SRA Accounts Rules
- Ensure all financial processes adhere to internal controls and regulatory standards
- Liaise with legal teams to coordinate disbursements, completions, and billing queries
- Monitor client account balances, ensuring timely transfers and compliance with rules
- Produce internal reports and assist with external audits when required
- Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes within the cashiering function
- Work closely with Legal Ops, Compliance, and Finance teams to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- 5+ years' experience in legal cashiering, with strong exposure to property transactions and completions
- Excellent working knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
- Confident managing and supporting a small team
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail
- Experience using legal accounting software
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience working in a legal tech company or modern law firm
