About the role
- Lead Design Engineer developing temporary civil and structural designs for bridge and infrastructure projects. Working from Richmond, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD with a focus on safety and code compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop temporary civil and structural designs for bridge and infrastructure construction projects
- Plan, design, and review temporary construction engineering designs for safety, constructability, and code compliance
- Provide leadership and direction to design engineers and CAD modelers
- Work effectively with internal and external entities to develop safe, economic, and appropriate engineering solutions
- Coordinate project schedules to manage the needs of engineered submittals
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering field
- Current Professional Engineer license in Virginia and/or Maryland
- Minimum 10 years of design experience engineering temporary construction works for bridge/highway projects
- Knowledge and experience with engineering design of shoring systems, cofferdams, erection plans, bridge demolition, concrete formwork, slope stability, foundations
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, RISA-3D, MathCAD, Microsoft Office products, and other software utilized in engineering design
