Appian Tester responsible for validating functionality, performance, and security of Appian applications. Creating and executing test plans, collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Appian applications based on business and technical requirements.
Execute manual and automated tests to validate workflows, interfaces, and integrations within Appian.
Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platforms; collaborate with developers to ensure timely resolution.
Perform regression testing for new releases and updates to ensure existing functionality remains intact.
Validate application performance under various conditions and recommend optimizations where necessary.
Work closely with Business Analysts and developers to clarify requirements and ensure accurate test coverage.
Maintain detailed test documentation, including test results, defect logs, and quality metrics.
Recommend improvements to testing processes and contribute to best practices for Appian quality assurance.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and integrate testing activities into iterative development cycles.
Ensure compliance with data security standards and validate secure application behavior.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States and within commuting distance of a KBR site within the Houston or Phoenix area.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 2–3 years of experience in software testing, including Appian applications, or a High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in testing in lieu of degree.
Hands-on experience testing Appian applications, including process models, interfaces, and integrations.
Ability to create and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for complex workflows and integrations.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps (or similar tools) for defect tracking and test management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly document defects and communicate testing results to stakeholders.
Appian Developer Certification
Experience with applications related to government services.
Physical Asset Management experience and integrations using APIs.
Experience with Appian-specific testing tools or automation frameworks.
Knowledge of low-code platforms and their testing methodologies.
Familiarity with API testing and integration validation.
Experience with SQL for data validation and backend testing.
Understanding of Agile development practices and experience working in iterative development environments.
