About the role
- Senior Core Banking Automation Engineer supporting stability of core banking platforms and managing batch processing across environments. Collaborating with IT Operations to optimize system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and support mission-critical core banking batch and EOD processes
- Operate and monitor workload automation and job scheduling platforms
- Execute and supervise daily batch cycles across mainframe and distributed systems
- Troubleshoot production incidents and resolve failures during scheduled runs
- Ensure smooth orchestration of cross-platform processes (mainframe, Linux, Windows)
- Manage data transfers, reporting flows, and automated operational tasks
- Support integration between core systems and downstream platforms
- Produce technical documentation for processes, dependencies, and recovery procedures
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to optimize system stability and performance
- Participate in testing, validation, and continuous improvement of automation procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in core banking systems or similar enterprise environments
- Strong experience with workload automation or job scheduling tools (e.g., OpCon or similar platforms)
- Hands-on experience with batch/EOD processing and production operations
- Experience with mainframe environments such as AS/400 or z/OS
- Knowledge of COBOL or C
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Good understanding of system monitoring, incident handling, and operational reliability
- Fluency in English
