About the role
- Senior Systems Engineer specializing in security for critical IT systems. Collaborating with clients and teams to develop secure architectures and compliance strategies.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing IT systems and derive technical measures to secure those systems
- Design and evaluate secure system architectures as well as operating, hardening, and migration concepts
- Support technical integrations, migrations, and modernizations in security-critical IT infrastructures
- Advise clients on security requirements, system design, and hardening strategies
- Participate in reviews, tests, and audits to verify security and compliance requirements
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, further develop methods and standards, and assume technical responsibility for topic or project components
Requirements
- Degree in IT or equivalent technical qualification with relevant professional experience
- Experience in designing technical security measures, system hardening, or handling security-critical IT environments
- Solid knowledge of IT infrastructures, system architectures, and operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux)
- Familiarity with established security standards (e.g., BSI, ISO 27001, CIS Benchmarks) and the ability to derive technical measures
- Expertise in at least one focus area, e.g., system hardening, network security, Zero Trust
- Interest in new technologies, research-oriented work, and knowledge management
- Analytical thinking and structured working methods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Very good German and good English skills
