About the role

  • IT-Security Consultant at Institut für Datenschutz und Datensicherheit guiding IT compliance and security strategies. Engage with clients to enhance IT security practices across Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to company management on the current status of IT security.
  • Advises company management on IT security matters.
  • Develops and formulates the IT security policy and obtains approval from company management.
  • Communicates the agreed IT security policy to all affected employees.
  • Issues policies and regulations specifying how IT security should be achieved within the company.
  • Supports the application of IT-Grundschutz (IT baseline protection) and conducts risk analyses to create the IT security concept.
  • Coordinates IT security objectives with corporate objectives for IT use and aligns them with the IT strategies of individual business units.
  • Defines IT security responsibilities for subordinate areas.
  • Reviews developed IT security concepts for correctness and traceability.
  • Prepares company decisions on cost-intensive IT security measures.
  • Monitors the progress of implementation for IT security measures.
  • Coordinates checks of the effectiveness of IT security measures during ongoing operations.
  • Coordinates awareness-raising and training measures on IT security.

Requirements

  • Experience in IT security and data protection, ideally with relevant certifications such as ISO 27001 or comparable standards
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility, as well as to collaborate effectively in a team
  • Willingness to pursue continuous professional development and to stay informed about current developments in the IT security sector
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within Germany and, if required, internationally
