Mechanical Engineer contributing to the design of satellite hardware for ICEYE, ensuring structural integrity and reliability across the product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
**Your day-to-day responsibilities**
Contribute to trade studies, design reviews, and verification and qualification documentation across the product lifecycle
Support continuous improvement of existing satellite products and mechanical designs
Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, AIT, and quality teams to ensure compliance with launch and in-orbit requirements
Work with system and subsystem engineers to define and refine requirements for new products
Support integration, assembly, and validation activities to ensure designs meet performance and reliability targets
Participate in troubleshooting and issue resolution during build, test, and integration phases
Contribute to ensuring manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality of mechanical solutions
Requirements
**What we’re looking for****Must haves:**
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Experience in aerospace, automotive, or similar engineering environments
Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, integration, and testing
Ability to work cross-functionally with systems, electrical, and manufacturing teams
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Strong motivation to learn and continuously develop technical skills
Nice to haves:
Experience with PLM or PDM systems for configuration control
Experience designing satellite structures, subsystems, or complex electromechanical systems
Familiarity with aerospace industry standards such as ECSS, NASA, or MIL
