About the role
- Functional Expert driving Finance Transformation for a global consultancy in Belfast. Focused on bridging finance and technology solutions to clients in Europe.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep-dive analyses of complex client requirements through virtual workshops and process mapping sessions
- Translate business needs into robust, scalable, and best-practice-aligned solution designs
- Lead the functional design of financial systems including conducting workshops and ensuring alignment with accounting standards
- Advise clients on best-practice finance operating models and streamline processes
- Manage relationships with finance stakeholders across Europe as a translator between IT and Finance
- Manage specific functional workstreams with autonomy, create functional specifications, UAT scripts, and training materials
- Travel to client sites across Europe for critical design workshops and go-live support
Requirements
- 2 to 10 years of experience in Finance Transformation, FP&A, or Core Accounting, with exposure to implementing financial software
- A recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA or European equivalent) is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of financial statements, double-entry bookkeeping, and consolidation rules is essential
- Experience within a Big 4, Finance Transformation practice, or a top-tier consulting firm is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of financial processes and hands-on functional experience with Oracle Cloud ERP, Workday Financials or SAP S/4HANA
- Fluency in English is essential
- Professional proficiency in another European language (German, French, Spanish, Dutch) is desirable
