About the role
- Financial Reporting Lead preparing financial statements for Humana's Medicaid expansion. Collaborating with executives and leading teams in financial reporting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and distributes periodic financial statements for users other than those directly employed by the organization.
- Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.
- Ensures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards and organization policies.
- Prepares consolidation journal entries, eliminates intercompany transactions and consolidates divisional and subsidiary financial accounts in a timely and accurate basis for inclusion in internal and external financial statements.
- Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance.
- Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, and/or MBA/CPA
- 5-7 years of financial accounting/reporting experience
- Moderate experience with Microsoft Office products, primarily Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Previous experience with financial reporting and/or data analysis
- Previous experience in working with large data sets, querying, or consolidation of results for reporting; exposure to SQL or querying tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
