About the role

  • Software Engineer Team Lead developing high fidelity visualization and simulation applications using Unreal Engine. Leading an engineering team under Space Protection and Response Solution program for military and Space Force initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Unreal Software Developers, conduct code reviews, and ensure high-quality work
  • Define technical architecture and best practices for Unreal Engine projects
  • Collaborate through Confluence, Discourse, GitLab, and Jira
  • Partner with government leadership to maintain program alignment and capture customer requirements
  • Provide regular status updates and present progress to leadership and customers
  • Drive development of Unreal Engine–based visualization, simulation, and digital twin applications
  • Contribute to team roadmap, vision, and technical direction
  • Design, develop, document, test, and debug real-time 3D applications in Unreal Engine

Requirements

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of team lead or technical lead experience
  • Proficiency in C++ and Unreal Engine (UE5)
  • Successful completion of a technical C++ coding challenge
  • Strong understanding of compiling, linking, and debugging C++ applications within the Unreal Engine build system
  • Experience developing real time 3D visualization, simulation, or interactive training applications in Unreal Engine
  • Basic space knowledge (e.g., coordinate systems, time, orbital propagation) and experience integrating external data sources into Unreal Engine
  • Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to excel in a fast paced, agile environment
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
