About the role
- Data Engineer providing technical expertise on mission-critical NAVSUP OIS program. Work involves data architecture and database management in AWS GovCloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise on mission-critical program for OIS
- Design, build, deploy, and maintain data architectures and databases in the AWS GovCloud
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build out new API integrations
- Implement and manage databases and data delivery systems
- Collaborate with data scientists and architects to ensure data infrastructure supports functions
Requirements
- 10+ years of related experience
- U.S. Citizenship required
- BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
- Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II baseline certification: Security+
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Data Engineer or similar certification highly preferred
- Strong proficiency in SQL
- Experience with implementing ETL processes and tools (e.g., Pentaho)
- Experience with data warehousing concepts
- Experience in decomposition of Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures and triggers
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) highly preferred
- Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
