About the role

  • Mechanical and Electrical Manager overseeing quality service delivery and compliance across community housing. Manage contractors and budgets while ensuring safe and reliable homes for tenants.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational delivery of mechanical and electrical services across housing and communal assets, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant homes
  • Manage contractors to ensure services are delivered in line with contractual requirements, taking corrective action where necessary
  • Work collaboratively with the Asset Investment team and key stakeholders to identify and deliver capital investment programmes
  • Monitor contractor performance and day-to-day activities, ensuring servicing schedules, compliance requirements, and target dates are met
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring services deliver value for money
  • Carry out pre- and post-inspections of repair and maintenance works to mechanical and electrical plant and equipment, ensuring high-quality outcomes

Requirements

  • Experience working in a mechanical or electrical servicing and repairs environment, ideally within social housing or a related sector
  • HNC in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Building Construction, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience managing domestic heating and/or electrical compliance programmes within social housing or a similarly regulated residential environment
  • Experience managing multiple contractors and building strong, long-term relationships within a contract management framework
  • Sound knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
