About the role
- Assistant Manager in financial services tax helping clients with tax obligations and structuring. Involves compliance management, advisory services, and business development in Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Support the Managers and Partners in helping financial services clients meet their local and overseas tax obligations.
- Structure their affairs tax efficiently and apply for tax incentives where available.
- Provide effective tax advisory and compliance services (including GST) to corporate clients in the financial services industry.
- Foster strong relationships with relevant client contacts and provide independent advice.
- Manage a team of staff and take on a proactive role in identifying new business opportunities.
- Ensure timely completion of tax work and support the Manager/Partner in delivering high-quality tax services.
- Oversee the compliance management process and adapt to challenges in the process.
- Participate in managing a compliance group by assisting with forecasting future compliance work, delegating work effectively, coaching, training and resolving staffing issues.
- Share knowledge to develop professionally and enhance service delivery.
Requirements
- Degree in Accountancy/ Finance or relevant discipline, preferably with a membership with Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP).
- At least 4-5 years of relevant business tax experience working with clients from the financial services industry such as banking, insurance, payments, wealth or asset management, or family offices.
- A strong understanding of Singapore’s tax policies for the wealth and asset management industry.
- Strong leadership, project management and analytical skills.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Strong team player.
