About the role

Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop web-based front-end and microservices backend applications mainly using Java, Javascript, Typescript, React and Python
- Evaluate and recommend modern frameworks, technologies, and tools, and execute the corresponding processes.
- Design, implement, and maintain REST APIs for devices and web clients including our web dashboard, devices, mobile apps and 3rd party apps
- Identify technical requirements in product meetings and assist the business team with realistic project planning and feature development; translate product requirements into functional, maintainable, extensible software that is in-line with company objectives
- Own your services/features from development through deployment and production monitoring
- Participate in design/code reviews.
- Partner with the Infrastructure Team to design data models that support large-scale highly available services
- Work with QA to develop test plans/strategies
- Participate in a regular on call and release management rotation
- Collaborate with cross-functional, distributed agile teams with the flexibility to work across time zones.
- Architect, build, and maintain robust, scalable, reliable, highly available, and performant applications.
- Coach and mentor engineers to deliver efficient, extensible solutions and improve their technical and leadership skills.
- Advocate engineering best practices by actively engaging and leveraging agile methods and a CI/CD DevOps mindset.
- Triage bugs and their impact on product or service operations and quality, focusing on customer centricity
- Prioritize and multi-task between projects with the ability to handle changing priorities.
- Help to define the vision, strategy, and own, and drive the software technical roadmap.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering field or related experience
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Strong coding skills; Java is our first choice of primary language
- Experience with Spring Boot for building microservices
- Professional experience with React and TypeScript
- Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and document databases (e.g., MongoDB).
