About the role

Responsibilities
- Modify, test, and support mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL (DB2), and CICS in an IBM z/OS environment
- Review application designs and source code to assist with testing, debugging, and production readiness
- Code and test high-priority and critical changes in support of business and operational requirements
- Perform performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications to maintain stability and efficiency
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including root cause analysis and defect correction
- Collaborate with remote and cross-functional team members to deliver reliable application support
- Provide regular project and task status updates to project managers and related stakeholders
- Create and maintain technical and operational documentation to support ongoing application maintenance
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience
- Hands-on experience in an IBM Mainframe (z/OS) environment
- Proficiency with COBOL, JCL, and DB2
- Experience deploying fixes in SLA-driven production environments
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Experience in creating technical documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
