About the role
- Senior Software Engineer at F5's NGINX Business Unit designing and developing test plans. Collaborating with teams in the automation field with a focus on code quality and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain test plans for functional, sustaining and compatibility testing
- Execute tests, report and verify defects for the functionality of our commercial management planes within the NGINX product line
- Document test plan and test results via test case management system
- Investigate test pipeline failures
- Mentor Junior engineers with various aspects of automation & encourage their technical growth
- Propose / define the process of how to best ensure code quality
- Champion code review process and provide meaningful feedback to other engineers to allow them to tone their skills and increase code quality
- Work cross-functionally integrating, testing, and debugging issues with existing system-wide software
- Build tools and infrastructure to improve F5’s components and features
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience in the automation field
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree; and/or equivalent work experience
- Skilled coder in Python language
- Knowledge of GO would be beneficial
- Experience with Gitlab CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge and experience with cloud orchestration ecosystems like Kubernetes and AWS/Azure public clouds
- Knowledge and experience with test methodologies used in software development
- Knowledge of various automation tools, infrastructure and frameworks
