About the role

• Virtual Systems Engineer supporting sales in the DACH region at Extreme Networks. Conducting technical support, meetings, and presentations for client engagement and product education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical meetings with focused distributors, resellers/partners, and customers to highlight Extreme Networks products, solutions, and cloud-first platform architectures.
• Provide pre-sales technical support to Extreme Networks Inside Sales representatives, prospects, and new customers to positively influence sales within the DACH (Germany, Switzerland & Austria) market region.
• Deliver technical and sales presentations demonstrating how our solutions meet customer needs, reduce costs, and improve operations.
• Assist with proofs of concept to showcase Extreme's capabilities and advantages.
• Support field sales teams (account executives and systems engineers) with technical information and overall sales efforts.
• Respond proactively to internal and external communications in accordance with established internal SLAs.
• Assist resellers/partners, as needed, with technical network solution design for customers, recommending the best technical solution to provide high-quality products and services to Extreme's existing and new customers.
• Support educational initiatives (both classroom and remote webinars) to maintain a high level of product knowledge among inside sales representatives and partners/resellers.
• Collaborate with corporate and field marketing teams to align on corporate initiatives affecting regional sales processes.
• Participate in the feedback process to Research and Development by sharing information from customers, partners, and distributors regarding potential improvements to Extreme Networks product lines.
• Contribute to internal engineering communities (email, Teams, forums) and assist colleagues within the region to help make Extreme Networks more efficient and effective.
• Complete internal or external training as needed (including self-study modules) to keep product knowledge current and serve as an expert resource for resellers, partners, distributors, and peers.
• Work collaboratively with EMEA peers on initiatives specific to the broader market to improve service for our customers, partners, and the Extreme Networks community.
• Provide technical feedback from customers and partners/resellers to sales stakeholders to improve sales approach and strategy.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of networking and cloud technologies such as routing, switching, wireless, Zero Trust Access, and public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with API integration, emerging industry standards such as Modular Context Protocol, AI prompting, and general AI concepts.
• Fluent in German and English (spoken).
• Team-player mentality.
• Ability to work outside standard 9–5 working hours.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
