About the role
- Backend Software Engineer responsible for building backend services and data-centric products with an emphasis on GenAI applications. Collaborating across teams and cloud environments to deliver solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI).
- Develop and scale GenAI and agentic AI applications using frameworks such as LangChain / LangGraph, ADK, Agent Engine, CrewAI, MCP/A2A, and others.
- Work across cloud environments—primarily GCP (Cloud Run/GKE, Composer, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, AlloyDB/Cloud SQL)—or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Build data-driven features, pipelines, and integrations that power intelligent applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into robust backend and data solutions.
- Explore and understand existing systems with minimal guidance, proposing improvements and driving initiatives independently.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, code quality, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on backend engineering experience, with a strong foundation in building scalable backend and data products.
- Proficiency in Python, especially FastAPI, and strong SQL skills.
- Experience developing GenAI/agentic AI applications using modern frameworks and toolkits.
- Solid understanding of cloud-native development on GCP or similar cloud platforms.
- Ability to navigate large codebases, learn quickly, and operate with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a bias toward action.
- Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience with Java/Spring Boot; Knowledge of data modeling, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures; Familiarity with container orchestration, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code.
