About the role
- Senior Software Engineer developing scalable backend systems for Evertune's AI discovery platform. Collaborating with a focused team in a hybrid work environment in Seattle.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain scalable backend infrastructure in Python
- Design resilient APIs, optimize data pipelines, and ensure system reliability
- Help integrate and test data from third-party APIs, including LLM providers like OpenAI and Anthropic
- Debug and troubleshoot issues across the stack to ensure reliability and performance
- Integrate with major AI APIs, managing performance, cost, and observability
- Influence long-term technical direction and backend architecture
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews and coaching
- Collaborate across the stack to ship product features quickly and reliably
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience building resilient, performant, and scalable backend systems for user-facing or B2B products
- Expertise in Python or similar and distributed systems
- Strong database design skills (MongoDB or similar)
- Proven experience integrating with third-party APIs at scale
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (preferably GCP), observability tools, and CI/CD workflows
- Excellent communication and leadership-influence skills
- Must be able to work in our Seattle office 2–3 days per week (hybrid model)
