About the role
- AI Engineering intern contributing to Generative AI products development at Erste Digital. Collaborating within an international team and gaining hands-on experience with advanced technologies.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to existing use cases within the DAM AI Team, supporting the development of Generative AI products — including RAG-based chatbots, AI agents, and copilots powered by Large Language Models.
- Assist in building and maintaining backend services for knowledge retrieval systems and agentic AI workflows.
- Work with Databricks on Azure under the guidance of senior team members.
- Participate in code reviews and learn best practices for code quality and technical standards.
- Gain hands-on experience with modern development tools and practices, including AI-assisted coding agents.
- Collaborate with team members and internal stakeholders across Erste Group.
Requirements
- Ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Initial experience with Python and an interest in web service frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
- Curiosity about Large Language Models, RAG architectures, and agentic AI.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts.
- Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases is a plus.
- Good communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders in a clear and structured way.
- Bonus points for any exposure to Databricks, Azure, AWS, OpenAI SDK, vector databases or REST APIs.
- Eagerness to learn, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to work in an international team.
