About the role
- Senior Engineer supporting energetics and chemical manufacturing for federal and commercial clients. Evaluating processes, equipment, and safety expertise at Naval Support Facility in Indian Head, MD.
Responsibilities
- Support energetics and chemical manufacturing processes, including evaluating safe processes, equipment, and facility design
- Formulate risk mitigation strategies
- Provide technical expertise in new process startup activities
- Evaluate standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Perform malfunction and incident investigations
- Interact with technical customers to provide process engineering and safety expertise
- Manage projects, facilitate meetings, and lead hazard analyses
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
- At least 20 years of relevant experience
- Strong technical background in process engineering, process safety, and hazard analysis
- Expertise in energetic manufacturing processes is strongly desired
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholders
- Excellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skills
- Experience leading and facilitating teams to perform engineering and safety reviews with various stakeholders, including engineers, operators, and safety and quality representatives
- Must currently hold or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret-level security clearance
- Must be a U.S. citizen as this position is not eligible for Limited Access Authorizations
