About the role
- Senior Proposal Engineer for Power Projects supporting Emerson's Power and Water Solutions business in Cranberry Township, PA. Lead EPC proposal support and optimize processes for project proposals.
Responsibilities
- Optimize the EPC proposal process to improve consistency, accuracy, and turnaround time
- Participate in site walkdowns with potential vendors to gather information needed for competitive bids aligned with customer requirements
- Create and review Scope of Work (SOW) documents based on site walkdowns, industry knowledge, and process expertise
- Evaluate vendor bids to ensure accuracy and support best‑cost approaches while minimizing technical risk
- Partner with project teams to develop efficient outage plans, schedules, and labor strategies
- Manage and strengthen relationships with existing subcontractors while fostering connections with new vendors to enhance flexibility and options
- Foster relationships with future potential vendors to increase vendor flexibility and options
- Collaborate with Procurement teams on vendor qualification processes
- Assess regional labor requirements, prevailing wages, and project needs to support installation cost estimates
- Identify opportunities for termination reuse and other cost‑effective project strategies
- Ensure project scope, deliverables, and estimates reflect Emerson’s high standards for quality and integrity
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 10 years of relevant experience, such as marketing or engineering with emphasis in control systems and/or process operation
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position
