About the role
- Hands-on engineer for special projects under GSS HUB, focusing on process optimization and data analytics in Pune, India.
Responsibilities
- Facilitates the EEEC’s interests and activities for Special projects under GSS HUB.
- Engaging with the proposals team within Special projects.
- Supporting proposals, design/prototype new integrated solutions and delivery for Special projects.
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot process units using simulation, control, and data analytics.
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Aspen InfoPlus.21 (IP.21) and AspenTech inmation platforms.
- Configure and manage data acquisition from DCS, PLC, SCADA, and ERP systems.
- Oversee historian database management.
- Create and manage tags, units, queries, and custom logic in Aspen IP.21 using SQL-based applications and IP.21 APIs.
- Monitor historian data quality, system loads, and connector reliability.
- Provide L1/L2 support for Aspen IP.21 and inmation systems.
- Manage role-based access control, certificates, secure communication, and firewall requirements.
Requirements
- 4+ years of hands-on experience implementing, supporting, or administering Aspen IP.21.
- 2+ years of experience working with AspenTech inmation (Industrial DataOps / Unified Namespace platform).
- Strong knowledge of Aspen IP.21 Administrator.
- Strong knowledge of Definition Editor.
- Strong knowledge of Aspen Process Explorer.
- Strong knowledge of Aspen SQLplus.
- Strong knowledge of Cim‑IO interfaces.
- Proficiency with key AspenTech inmation modules (Core Namespace & Studio, Connectors).
- Good understanding of Unified Namespace (UNS) principles, industrial data contextualization, and real-time data orchestration.
- Strong SQL skills: PL/SQL, MS SQL, SSRS.
- Experience with Lua scripting, Python, or equivalent automation experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- 3–8 years of experience in process engineering, process control, or process simulation in sectors such as chemicals, oil & gas, refining, or power.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
