Responsibilities
- Completes projects and performs complex actuarial studies
- Performs key actuarial functions related to cost of care
- Understands the impact of provider and government regulation changes
- Designs and completes special projects such as understanding changes in cost and utilization at a claim level
- Educates and makes recommendations on changes in expense and utilization that impacts profitability of the business
- Develops, maintains and analyzes reporting to support special projects and share findings regularly with market and project leadership.
Requirements
- Requires a BA/BS degree
- Passed a minimum of three Society of Actuaries (SOA) or Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) actuarial exams
- Minimum of 1 year related experience
- Technical background in SQL, Python, R, or SAS for data manipulation and statistical analysis
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and actuarial software tools
- Experience working with large administrative claims datasets and healthcare cost/utilization metrics
- Ability to apply actuarial judgment and statistical techniques to interpret and explain complex trends.
