About the role

  • System Modelling Innovation Engineer at Electrolux developing advanced product development system models. Enhancing modeling techniques and optimizing product development for better consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Within the company's Global R&D site, the APD (Advanced Product Development) Care Architecture team is seeking a dynamic, intellectually curious, and team-oriented System Model Engineer to enhance our modeling techniques and processes.
  • In this role, you will focus on developing and integrating detailed system models to accurately represent system requirements, architecture, and performance throughout the product creation process.
  • Your efforts will involve leveraging advanced modeling techniques and simulations to optimize product development, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality outcomes, ultimately contributing to a better consumer experience.
  • Lead selected projects & initiatives to maximize the impact of simulation system model adoption with consultation and supervision from senior colleagues.
  • Develop cross-functional and cross-category system models (multi-physics and data-driven where appropriate) to predict performances, support architecture decisions, and ensure that technical solutions meet the Consumer Benefits as defined by the Product Board and agreed with the System Modeling Team Leader.
  • Develop and execute optimization strategies to enhance system performance and efficiency based on simulation results.
  • Propose system modeling strategies: Physics-based (white box), reduced-order (black box), and/or hybrid approaches (gray box) within timing and cost targets set by the Global Product Board.
  • Integrate various system and sub-system components into a comprehensive appliance model to evaluate performance and behavior under different conditions.
  • Develop simulation workflows to enable faster iterations (automation, model reusability, modularity, and traceability of versions).
  • Implement reduced-order models to simplify complex appliance simulations while retaining essential dynamics and accuracy.
  • Project management, including planning, resource allocation, and timeline management.

Requirements

  • University degree in Mechanical / Systems / Mechatronics / Electronics Engineering or similar. MSc/PhD is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an R&D environment, as well as experience in leading projects. Previous experience in house appliances sector is a plus.
  • Solid knowledge of system modeling and simulation methodologies (multi-physics, reduced-order modeling, parameter estimation, model validation).
  • Experience with one or more modeling environments/tools such as Matlab/Simulink, Modelica, Amesim, Simcenter, COMSOL, ANSYS, GT-SUITE (tool selection depending on domain).
  • Ability to translate complex physical phenomena into practical, reliable, and user-friendly models that support decisions and are reusable across projects.
  • Familiarity with data analysis, experiment correlation, and basic scripting for automation (e.g., Python/Matlab).
  • Advanced English.

Benefits

  • Flexible work hours/hybrid work environment
  • Discounts on our award-winning Electrolux products and services
  • Family-friendly benefits such as extended paternity leave (4 weeks)
  • Insurance policy plan
  • Extensive learning opportunities and flexible career path
