About the role
- AI Engineer developing solutions for national security at Booz Allen. Responsible for designing databases and processes for AI model training and evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement vector and graph database architectures to support AI model training, inference, and evaluation processes
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for AI ingestion, processing, and analysis workflows in AWS cloud environments
- Support continuous model training and evaluation processes through optimized data storage and retrieval systems
- Ensure database solutions maintain explainability and auditability requirements for AI models
- Implement and maintain database systems that support DoD AI ethical principles and compliance requirements
- Design, develop, and optimize vector databases for embedding storage, similarity search, and AI model support
- Build and maintain graph databases for complex relationship modeling and knowledge representation
- Develop ETL or ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data ingestion into vector and graph systems
- Implement database monitoring, performance tuning, and scalability solutions
- Create and maintain database documentation, schemas, and data governance protocols
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in database development, machine learning, data science, or data engineering
- 2+ years of experience supporting AI or ML workloads and data pipelines
- Experience in natural language processing, LLMs, transformers or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure
