About the role
- R&D Data Engineer at DXC, transforming complex data into digital assets for global analytics and Smart Lab solutions. Collaborating on ELN and LIMS tools for enhanced data management.
Responsibilities
- Working with core ELN + SampleManager LIMS team: prioritizing enhancements, coordinating rollouts, gathering user feedback, and providing L2 support.
- Key tasks include migrating workflows from Excel used across worldwide labs into LIMS tools and ensuring end-to-end adoption within the standardized workflow;
- Integrating instruments into LIMS/ELN with monitored file drops and automated parsing;
- Transforming unstructured data sources into structured and standardized backend systems;
- Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for batch and real-time processing;
- Ensuring data security and regulatory compliance;
- Acting as a liaison with vendors, project managers, and R&D scientists for the deployment of Smart Lab solutions;
- Identifying information silos and propose connectivity and value-generation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field;
- At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, preferably in R&D, energy, chemical, or other industrial environments;
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel;
- Experience building and supporting digital solutions labs, integrating lab instruments and data flows with SampleManager LIMS and ELNs;
- Fluency in both written and verbal English language.
