About the role
- Senior Systems Linux Engineer managing and optimizing Linux-based systems at Drooms. Ensuring smooth operation of the platform with a focus on infrastructure reliability and DevOps practices.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the Drooms platform and supporting infrastructure
- Manage and optimize Linux-based systems across on-premise and cloud environments
- Operate and further develop infrastructure automation systems (e.g., Puppet, Ansible)
- Support infrastructure-as-code initiatives using configuration management and automation tools
- Monitor and maintain system reliability, performance, and security
- Manage networking components and ensure connectivity and availability
- Support DevOps practices and CI/CD workflows (e.g., GitLab or similar)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve infrastructure and support product development
- Maintain clear and up-to-date system documentation, SOPs, and architectural diagrams
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Linux systems administration
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure
- Familiarity with networking administration and troubleshooting
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of data systems and tools is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence
- Very good knowledge of German (at least C1) and fluent English – our daily working language
