About the role
- Accountant handling financial transactions for the IT department at Domtar. Responsible for compliance and reporting in a full-time role based in Montreal.
Responsibilities
- Obtain, analyze and record the monthly accruals from IT directors
- Review all project invoices and prepaid expense invoices for the IT group
- Perform accounting journal entries and prepare month-end reconciliations
- Prepare and provide monthly cost statements (operating expenses) to IT cost center owners
- Assist in tracking project costs
- Conduct monthly analysis of depreciation expense and track IT assets on the books
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly forecasts and the annual budget for the IT group
- Track IT assets and perform necessary asset commissioning and capitalization
- Produce the CFO's quarterly project status report
- Support other members of the IT Finance team as requested
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
- A professional accounting designation is an asset, or you are working toward obtaining one
- Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of SAP (FI/CO) is an asset
- Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken
