Responsibilities
- **What You´ll Do**
- Create engineering design, prototypes, and manufacturing plans for products under design and development.
- Generate 3D CAD models, drawings, schematics, bills of material, and other related documentation required for manufacturing, integration and testing.
- Deliver technical documentation including any engineering calculations, analysis and assumptions required to substantiate your design decisions and solutions.
- Manage suppliers and manufacturers by addressing any technical questions and resolving any issues which may arise during the manufacturing process.
- Select standard parts, fasteners, equipment, and consumables following best practices and industry standards.
- Coach junior engineers and interns in mechanical design, manufacturing and CAD.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions during different development stages.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, software, and systems engineers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of the components into the vehicle.
Requirements
- **What You’ll Need**
- BSc. In Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering or a related discipline.
- Ideally, technical training as a mechanical designer/ drafter.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering with close ties to manufacturing.
- Experience with design of automated solutions, special machines or test benches is a benefit.
- Ideally, experience in several different phases - design, build, integration, test, and operation.
- Good communication skills, proactive attitude, and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work to strict timescales as part of an integrated, multidisciplinary team and autonomously.
- The ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment.
- Willingness to travel to different Destinus sites in Switzerland (max. 20%)
- Fluency in English and German language is required.
