About the role

• DevOps Engineer at Degreed designing and automating cloud infrastructure. Collaborating with teams to improve deployment reliability and drive automation across engineering functions.

Responsibilities

• Build, improve, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and modern IaC patterns.
• Contribute to cloud platform standardization efforts to improve scalability, reliability, and operational clarity.
• Partner with engineering teams to design and enhance CI/CD pipelines, enabling fast and secure deployments.
• Support the adoption and operation of container-based platforms leveraging Kubernetes.
• Drive automation efforts to reduce operational toil, improve recovery time, and enhance system reliability.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation, contributing to incident response and post-incident improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to promote best practices in observability, performance, and infrastructure maturity.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
• Azure cloud, production-grade experience — architecture, networking, IAM, observability, and cost optimization.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, including reusable modules and state management.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience operating clusters and associated tooling in production settings.
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, ArgoCD, FluxCD).
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, policy-driven design, and secrets / identity management.
• Ability to work with remote, distributed teams, documenting decisions and communicating asynchronously.
• Collaborative, ownership-driven mindset, open to continual learning and knowledge-sharing.
