About the role
- Data Engineer Consultant designing and optimizing data infrastructure for clients' business needs. Working with SQL and data visualization tools in a mainly remote role with some onsite responsibilities in Denver.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes tailored to client needs.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot data-related issues, providing quick and effective resolutions.
- Analyze data workflows and identify areas for improvement, recommending and implementing solutions to optimize performance.
- Utilize a proactive approach to foresee potential problems and address them before they impact clients' operations.
- Design and implement dimensional models to support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools to provide actionable insights.
- Train clients on best practices for using data visualization tools to maximize value.
- Engage with clients to understand their data needs and business objectives.
- Conduct detailed requirements analysis and provide recommendations for data infrastructure improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL
- Proven experience with data visualization tools and theory.
- In-depth knowledge of dimensional modeling concepts and techniques.
- Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients.
