• Staff Software Engineer responsible for the technical strategy and architecture of Coinbase's Finhub Tooling platform. Driving AI-powered workflows and mentoring engineers in a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the Finhub Tooling platform.
• Drive an AI-first approach to internal tooling.
• Architect and develop systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
• Build alignment and secure commitment from cross-team partners.
• Define engineering processes, quality standards, and best practices.
• Maintain high-volume technical output while mentoring the team.
• Collaborate to turn product vision into a tangible roadmap.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering
• Designed and built fault-tolerant, highly reliable systems at scale
• Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant organizational impact
• Proven ability to drive technical strategy and roadmap for a platform or team
• Experience building alignment across cross-functional stakeholders and leading execution on initiatives that span multiple teams
• Track record of elevating team technical quality through mentorship, design reviews, and engineering process improvements
• Passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together
• Demonstrates the ability to use generative AI tools and copilots responsibly in daily workflows
