• Senior Software Engineer developing backend solutions for Coinbase's institutional finance. Tackling complex technical challenges and driving innovations for onchain products.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver high-impact initiatives, including accelerated network onboarding, reliable high-success-rate transaction processing, and the implementation of advanced policy controls for institutional clients.
• Define and execute the team’s technical roadmap, aligning with multi-quarter goals and organizational priorities.
• Solve ambiguous, high-impact challenges by deeply understanding customer needs and delivering secure, scalable solutions.
• Uphold high-quality engineering practices through rigorous code reviews, testing, and addressing technical debt.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and ensure the reliability and scalability of backend systems.
• Guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their growth and elevating the team’s technical capabilities.
• Identify opportunities for innovation, propose solutions, and adopt cutting-edge technologies like MPC and cryptographic protocols.
• Partner with Blockchain, Security, and Infrastructure teams to deliver seamless integrations and align on dependencies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in backend development, with expertise in Golang, GraphQL, REST APIs, Kubernetes, AWS, and blockchain protocols (e.g., EVM, Solana, UTXO)
• You write high-quality, well-tested, and maintainable code, and have a proven track record of building resilient, scalable, and secure microservices.
• You have experience leading complex technical projects end-to-end, mentoring engineers, and driving technical excellence within a team.
• You thrive on solving ambiguous, large-scale, and highly complex problems, and you show a bias for action to deliver impactful solutions.
• You have hands-on experience with blockchain network integrations, cryptographic systems (e.g., MPC), and secure key management.
• You are passionate about understanding customer needs and building solutions that enable institutions to securely operate onchain.
• You excel at working cross-functionally with product, security, and infrastructure teams.
