About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of platform engineers, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture.
- Provide expert technical guidance to the team, ensuring all implementations align with architectural standards and industry best practices.
- Manage the full performance lifecycle, including regular reviews, feedback, and the creation of development plans to facilitate engineering growth.
- Effectively allocate tasks and resources to ensure timely project delivery and optimal team utilization across multiple workstreams.
- Partner closely with Platform Architect and the Director to define designs, translate vision into actionable roadmaps, and dissolve complex technical challenges.
- Lead the design and implementation of complex infrastructure solutions using Terraform, ensuring they scale with CloudPay's global requirements.
- Drive the design and development of major IDP features, ensuring the platform enhances developer productivity and adheres to scalability principles.
- Evangelize and drive the continuous improvement of DevOps practices across the department, ensuring alignment with modern architectural principles.
- Act as the escalation point for complex production support project, guiding the team through root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing long-term solutions to minimize downtime.
- Design and maintain robust, efficient CI/CD pipelines to automate the build, test, and deployment of infrastructure and applications.
- Refine automated testing framework to guarantee the reliability and security of all platform components.
- Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and mitigate issues within the CI/CD pipelines and the broader platform.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in infrastructure engineering or DevOps, with a proven track record of managing or leading technical teams.
- Demonstrated success in mentoring engineers to achieve technical excellence and career progression.
- Deep Technical Expertise: Mastery of Terraform, CI/CD tooling (e.g., Argo CD, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Groovy.
- Advanced knowledge of networking, security, and system administration.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic decision-making abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment.
