About the role
- Data Scientist developing predictive models for vehicle budgeting solutions at Cilia Tecnologia. Collaborating with engineering team to implement models and monitor production performance.
Responsibilities
- Understand requirements from business areas and translate them into analytical problems;
- Extract, clean and transform data from different sources; perform exploratory and statistical analyses;
- Develop, validate and optimize predictive models for classification, regression and segmentation;
- Define evaluation metrics and conduct experiments and statistical tests;
- Also responsible for collaborating with the engineering team to deploy models, design training and inference pipelines, monitor production performance (including drift analysis and retraining needs), document processes and results, and communicate insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Proven experience developing machine learning models for tabular data (classification, regression, and segmentation).
- Strong knowledge of applied statistics and exploratory data analysis.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
- Experience with gradient boosting libraries (XGBoost, LightGBM or CatBoost).
- Knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Experience in data cleaning and preparation (feature engineering, handling missing values, outliers, and class imbalance).
- Knowledge of model validation, evaluation metrics and hyperparameter tuning.
- Experience with code versioning (Git).
- Experience deploying or supporting the deployment of models in production.
- Ability to document analyses and communicate results clearly.
