Responsibilities
Development of creative layouts for books and calendars in the humor category, taking into account target audiences, market trends and the publisher's design guidelines
Design of book covers with special finishing features such as colored edges, varnish or embossing
Creation of promotional materials — e.g., posters, advertisements and social media graphics
Ensuring that all designs are appealing, on-brand and tailored to the target audience
Maintaining and developing the publisher's visual brand identity
Close collaboration with the editorial team and contributing content ideas for themes, jokes and sayings
Supporting the integration of illustrations and text into the overall design
Meeting deadlines, ensuring quality and preparing print-ready files according to technical specifications
Requirements
Completed training or degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design or a comparable field
Professional experience in designing books, magazines or similar print products (ideally in publishing)
Proficiency in the common Adobe Creative Suite programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
Strong typographic sensibility and a keen eye for design
Experience or interest in designing games, non-book products or merchandise (not required but a plus)
