About the role
- Civil Engineer - Water responsible for leading water and wastewater infrastructure projects at Black & Veatch. Involves design, budgeting, scheduling, and client communication for engineering excellence.
Responsibilities
- Focus on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure projects by leading significant portions of a variety of facilities throughout the cycle of design and construction, and startup phases as a technical specialist or lead
- Hands-on involvement in developing reports or technical memos, completing studies, detailed designs, and specifications, collaborating to complete cost estimates, and preparing contract documents
- Participation in scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration for infrastructure projects
- Coordinate with all other internal/external team members on moderately complex projects
- Assist with identification of key client interests and drivers on less complex projects
- Communicate client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to accommodate these concerns in the performance of the work on less complex projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
- Thorough understanding or water and wastewater design (i.e., Infrastructure, Conveyance, Pump Stations/Lift Stations)
- Ability and motivation to lead portions of complex projects with guidance and mentorship
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience
- Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries
