- Mid Backend Engineer responsible for designing and maintaining backend systems for market-leading automotive payment platform. Collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems to ensure functionality and scalability of the platform
- Share best practices and mentor less experienced engineers
- Identify and implement process improvements within the team
- Collaborate closely with experienced engineers to continuously learn and grow
- Bring innovative ideas to enhance system-wide performance and scalability
- Diagnose and resolve system issues across the platform
- Take ownership of tasks from inception to completion with minimal supervision
- Debug and maintain applications while ensuring code efficiency and performance
- Use Git for version control and tracking code changes
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and Django
- Strong knowledge of SQL databases and experience optimising database performance
- Understanding of software design principles and experience building REST APIs
- Proficiency in Git and version control best practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the Product Team and other stakeholders
- A proactive mindset to identify and address technical and customer concerns
