About the role
- Data Governance & Platform Owner responsible for BRF's data platforms and governance frameworks. Ensuring reliability and effective operation of internal data infrastructure in a hybrid work setting.
Responsibilities
- Owning the operational stability, availability, and performance of BRF’s core data platforms, including data ingestion, storage, transformation, and analytics layers.
- Ensuring data pipelines and integrations between internal systems operate reliably, efficiently, and in alignment with defined standards.
- Defining, implementing, and enforcing data governance policies, standards, and best practices across the organization.
- Establishing and monitoring data quality controls, metrics, and remediation processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and trustworthiness.
- Managing metadata, data lineage, and documentation to support transparency and usability of enterprise data assets.
- Partnering with data owners and stewards across manufacturing, supply chain, commercial, and corporate functions to ensure accountability for critical data domains.
- Working with IT security and compliance teams to ensure appropriate data access controls, role-based permissions, and adherence to internal and external compliance requirements.
- Acting as the primary point of accountability for data platform incidents, including root cause analysis, issue resolution, and communication to stakeholders.
- Defining and maintaining a roadmap for data platform and governance maturity, balancing operational needs with longer-term strategic improvements.
- Evaluating new tools, technologies, and architectural enhancements to improve scalability, reliability, and efficiency of the data ecosystem.
- Works on initiatives with moderate to high scope and material impact on the organization’s ability to leverage data effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Management, or a related technical field
- Five (5)+ years of experience working with enterprise data platforms, data integration, or analytics environments, with demonstrated ownership of platform reliability and operations
- Hands-on experience with data governance disciplines, including data quality management, metadata, data lineage, and data standards
- Experience supporting and operating production data pipelines and analytics platforms in a business-critical environment
- Proven ability to work across IT, data, and business teams to define standards, resolve data issues, and ensure data is fit for operational and analytical use
- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or regulated enterprise environment where data reliability and controls are critical.
