About the role
- Analyst in Corporate & Investment Banking at BBVA supporting client engagement and strategic transaction execution. Opportunity to build a solid foundation in investment banking with exposure to high-profile corporates.
Responsibilities
- Business origination
- Develop and prepare pitch materials, client presentations, and industry analysis to support senior bankers in new business origination.
- Conduct company valuations using methodologies such as DCF, trading multiples, and precedent transactions.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to support strategic recommendations.
- Perform sector research, benchmarking, and peer comparisons to generate insights that inform strategic recommendations.
- Transaction execution
- Assist in the execution of live transactions across different solutions (M&A, financing, and capital markets) alongside product teams.
- Contribute to internal approval processes, including preparation of materials for risk committees and transaction reviews.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met under tight deadlines.
- Management support
- Help manage client relationships through follow-up tracking, targeting exercises, and preparation of tailored insights.
- Maintain client pipelines, internal databases, and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Support internal committees with the preparation of business, client coverage plans, and sector strategy materials.
- Monitor industry newsflow, earnings announcements, and macroeconomic developments, preparing concise digests for bankers.
Requirements
- Strong academic background (Finance, Business, Engineering, or related fields).
- Demonstrated interest and/or experience in investment banking and corporate finance.
- Strong technical foundation, with proficiency in valuation techniques, Excel and PowerPoint, financial databases (e.g. Bloomberg, Capital IQ); financial modelling skills are an advantage.
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information clearly.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and collaborative mindset, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment.
- Fluency in English; other European languages are a plus.
