About the role
- Senior Data Engineer responsible for building and evolving data platforms at Arsipa GmbH. Involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and ensuring data strategy implementation.
Responsibilities
- Build, operate and evolve a scalable data platform (warehouse / lake / lakehouse)
- Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate a wide range of data sources
- Ensure data quality, performance, scalability and cost optimization
- Implement monitoring, governance and security concepts (including GDPR)
- Work closely with analytics, product and engineering teams
- Automate data processes and continuously improve existing architectures
- Actively contribute to the data strategy and evaluate new technologies
Requirements
- Several years of experience in data engineering or a comparable role
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, and solid engineering standards (tests, CI/CD)
- Deep understanding of modern data architectures and data modeling
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and common data tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt, Spark, Snowflake)
- High quality and ownership mindset for production data pipelines
- Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly and translate business requirements
- Team player with an interest in mentoring and continuous development
- Business‑fluent English (required); German language skills are a plus
