About the role
- Software Engineer in Test I providing QA support and automation for Anthology’s education technology solutions. Engaging in agile practices and enhancing development efficiency with AI technology.
Responsibilities
- Focus on providing support for test development and execution against Anthology’s new feature and legacy system releases
- Become an active member of an agile team of developers participating in daily stand-ups, design sessions, code reviews, and sprint demos
- Create and maintain automation frameworks and testing tools
- Develop the test strategy for features, incorporating the right balance of unit tests, integration/API tests, and UI tests
- Design, implement, and maintain complex testing environments, performing all aspects of verification including functional, regression, load, and system testing as well as documentation
- Work with AI technology to enhance development efficiency and create exciting new features for customers
- Work in a Scrum team focused on building functionality for Anthology’s LMS, Blackboard
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in QA manual testing and automation in WDIO
- Experience developing test automation scripts for web applications and REST APIs
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as WebDriver, TestNG, Mocha, Jasmine, or Jest
- Familiarity with Java, HTML, and CSS
- Solid knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript for test automation
- Hands-on experience with API testing using tools such as Postman or Insomnia
- A technical understanding of database configuration and the ability to write complex SQL queries
- Light experience with one or more scripting languages, such as shell or bash
- Light experience with REST APIs, JavaScript, XML, JSON
- Familiarity with build environments like Jenkins, Docker, and Mesos
- Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Familiarity with testing web applications using screen readers, validating keyboard navigation, and focus behavior
