About the role

• Financial Analyst managing project budgets and financial tracking at Ameriprise India LLP. Supporting accurate reporting and insights using SQL, Power BI, and Jira.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain project budgets, including forecasting, tracking actuals vs plan, variance analysis, and regular financial reporting across multiple projects
• Develop, maintain, and update budget trackers and financial dashboards using tools such as Excel and Power BI to provide clear visibility to project managers and leadership
• Coordinate with project stakeholders to gather inputs for budget planning, reforecasting, and approvals, ensuring alignment with project scope and timelines
• Maintain project plans and work tracking using Jira, including backlog management, sprint tracking, and adherence to project milestones
• Manage and maintain project documentation in Confluence, ensuring accurate, up-to-date artifacts such as project plans, financial assumptions, decisions, and retrospectives
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, validate, and analyze financial and project data from source systems as required
• Automate recurring processes and reporting using Power Automate, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort
• Support regular project governance activities including meeting agendas, minutes, action item tracking, status updates, and stakeholder communications
• Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly project and financial status reports for sponsors, finance partners, and senior stakeholders
• Act as a point of contact to triage project-related inquiries, coordinate follow-ups, and track issues through to resolution
• Continuously enhance project execution and financial management practices by leveraging lessons learned, best practices, and relevant tooling enhancements.

Requirements

• MBA or equivalent qualification
• B.Tech in Computer Science / Engineering (CSE) preferred
• Strong experience or demonstrated capability in project budgeting, financial tracking, or cost management
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly convey financial and project information to technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and highlight risks or variances
• Hands-on experience with SQL for data analysis and validation
• Experience using Jira and Confluence for project tracking and documentation
• Experience with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and OneDrive for collaboration and document management
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in project financial management or project operations preferred
• Hands-on experience building Power BI reports and dashboards for project or financial reporting
• Experience designing or maintaining workflows using Power Automate
• Familiarity with enterprise project governance models and financial approval processes
• Exposure to Agile delivery environments and financial tracking within Agile frameworks.
