About the role
- Hardware Test Engineer responsible for developing and executing hardware test strategies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams at QSC to ensure product reliability and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive hardware test plans, test cases, and validation strategies for analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits.
- Design automated and manual test setups to validate PCBs, subsystems, and complete products.
- Perform root‑cause analysis and troubleshooting of hardware failures using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Conduct HALT/HASS, environmental stress tests, thermal cycling, vibration, and long‑term reliability, system tests and analysis.
- Evaluate product robustness and identify potential design weaknesses early in the development cycle.
- Develop automated test scripts using Python.
- Implement data collection, monitoring, and reporting methods to improve test coverage and product insights.
- Maintain test fixtures, custom tooling, and instrumentation used in product validation.
- Partner with electrical, mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to influence design‑for‑testability (DFT) and design‑for‑reliability (DFR).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or any related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in hardware test, validation, or hardware development.
- Strong hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, audio analyzers, and other electronic measurement tools.
- Ability to design basic custom circuits and PCBAs and develop custom test fixtures to support test automation.
- Proficient in reading schematics, interpreting datasheets, and understanding electronic circuit behavior.
- Experience with Python, and learn and adapt to custom home grown test automation frameworks.
- Willingness to travel as required to support NPI projects, or provide remote support for test stations during new product launches and sustaining activities.
